Playtest · Version 1.2 · Effective 12 October 2026

Tester terms

In short
  1. 01The playtest is free, invite-only and unfinished, so things will change and may break.
  2. 02Please keep cards, rules and art private until launch. Talking about your experience is fine.
  3. 03Feedback you send can be used to improve the game, without payment.
  4. 04Either of us can end your participation at any time.

01About these terms

These terms apply to the closed playtest of Base — The Jiu-Jitsu Card Game.

By accepting them at sign-up or when you first use your invite, you agree to them. How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy.

02Who can take part

  • You must be 16 or older.
  • One account per person. Your invite and sign-in links are personal, so don't share or forward them.
  • Places are limited and invites go out in waves. Signing up doesn't guarantee an invite.

03What the playtest is

The playtest is free. The game is unfinished: rules, cards, art, balance and features will change, matches and statistics may be reset, and the service may be unavailable or stop working at times. We may change, pause or end the playtest at any time.

04Keep it private

Until the public launch, please don't publish or share outside the playtest:

  • card lists, card text or card art,
  • screenshots or recordings of the game,
  • the rules in full.

You're welcome to tell people you're testing Base and talk about your experience in general terms. Material we publish ourselves isn't confidential. If you'd like to stream or post about the game, ask us first at contact@grolea.com.

05Your feedback

We'd love your feedback. By sending it, you give Grolea Oy a free, worldwide, permanent right to use it to develop and promote Base, without any obligation to pay or credit you. Please don't send material that belongs to someone else.

06Gameplay data

We record how matches play out to balance the game. The privacy policy explains what's recorded and how long we keep it.

07Fair play

  • Don't cheat, exploit bugs on purpose, or automate play. Report bugs instead.
  • Don't copy, scrape, reverse engineer or try to access parts of the service you weren't given.
  • Don't disrupt the service or other testers, and be respectful in anything you send us.

08Ownership

Base, its name, rules, cards, illustrations and software belong to Grolea Oy. Taking part gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use the playtest for testing, nothing more.

09Ending

You can leave at any time by emailing us or deleting your account in your tester settings. We may end your access if you break these terms or when the playtest ends. Sections 04, 05 and 08 continue after the playtest ends; section 04 ends at public launch.

10Liability

The playtest is provided as it is, without guarantees. To the extent the law allows, Grolea Oy isn't liable for indirect losses or for lost game data. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under mandatory law.

11Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland. If you're a consumer, you keep the protections of the law of the country you live in. You can also take a dispute to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariita.fi) or the EU's online dispute resolution platform.

12Changes and contact

If we change these terms we'll email you before the changes apply. If you don't agree, you can leave the playtest.
